John and Mary Jane had three children together: Serena, Charley, and Ottis. All three died within their first year of life, per birth records and the family Bible.

John abandoned Mary Jane sometime after 1867. She remarried, under the surname Puckett, had additional children, and died 17 Feb 1905, per her Find a Grave memorial.
