Parmelia Farney (Working Hypothesis) ^1a,^1b — No marriage record located. Identified as Joshua's wife via the 1850 and 1860 census, both enumerating her in his household. Her identity as 'Parmelia' rests on a presumed match with 'Milly Woodruff,' as son John Farney Woodruff's page records his mother — see Open Research Questions, below.

Is Parmelia Farney the same woman recorded as 'Milly Woodruff,' Joshua's wife, on son John Farney Woodruff's page? Birth year (c. 1820) and death location (Greenfield Township, Gallia County, Ohio — the same township where Joshua and Milly were enumerated together in 1860) are consistent, but no source yet names her under both forms, and 'Milly' as a period nickname for 'Parmelia' is unconfirmed.
