Education
Formal study, professional certificates, and years of conferences and workshops all sit on this page, and they trace one continuous line rather than two separate careers. A sociology degree came first, then two decades in the classroom and in instructional design, then formal training in genealogical research — each stage built the methodological habits the next one needed. The Genealogical Research Program at Boston University and the coursework through the University of Strathclyde gave the research its formal foundation; the doctoral work and the MOOCs on faculty training are where the underlying instincts were actually built.
